Barnet Cleaner Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Barnet Cleaner provides domestic and commercial cleaning services to clients within its service area in the United Kingdom. By making a booking, using our services, or allowing our cleaners access to your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These terms are intended to create a clear and fair framework for both parties. Please read them carefully before placing a booking. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not proceed with a booking or use our services.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Client means any individual, household, company, or organisation that requests or receives cleaning services from Barnet Cleaner.

Company, we, us, our means Barnet Cleaner, operating as a cleaning services provider in the United Kingdom.

Services means any cleaning or related services supplied by the Company to the Client, including but not limited to regular domestic cleaning, one-off deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, office cleaning, and related general cleaning tasks.

Cleaner means any person engaged by the Company to provide the Services at the Client’s premises.

Premises means the property or properties where the Services are to be provided.

Scope of Services

The Services provided by Barnet Cleaner will be agreed at the time of booking. The Company will use reasonable endeavours to deliver the Services with due skill, care, and attention and in accordance with the description provided at the time of booking.

The Client is responsible for specifying the type of clean required, the frequency (where applicable), and any particular priorities or areas of focus. The Company reserves the right to decline work that falls outside its normal scope of activity or which may pose health or safety risks to the Cleaner.

Any estimated duration for the Services is provided as a guideline only. The actual time required may vary depending on the size and condition of the Premises. Where a fixed time has been booked, the Cleaner will use reasonable endeavours to prioritise the tasks specified by the Client within the allotted time.

Booking Process

Bookings may be made through the Company’s chosen booking channels. By requesting a booking, the Client confirms that they are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and that they are the owner, tenant, or authorised occupier of the Premises.

All bookings are subject to acceptance by the Company. A booking will be considered confirmed when the Company sends a written confirmation of the appointment date, time, and agreed services through the chosen communication method.

The Client must provide accurate and complete information regarding the Premises, access instructions, parking arrangements, and any special requirements. The Company reserves the right to amend the quoted price or cancel the booking if the information provided by the Client is incomplete or materially inaccurate.

For regular recurring services, the Company may agree a fixed schedule. Any changes to the schedule, such as temporary suspensions or changes of day or time, must be requested by the Client in advance and are subject to availability.

Access to the Premises

The Client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed time. This may include arrangements for keys, key codes, porters, or reception staff as applicable.

If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Premises at the scheduled time due to the Client’s act or omission, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and charged in accordance with the cancellation policy set out in these Terms and Conditions.

The Client agrees to ensure that the Premises are safe for work and that any known hazards are clearly communicated to the Company and the Cleaner prior to the start of the Services.

Client Obligations

The Client agrees to provide:

a safe working environment for the Cleaner;

running water, electricity, lighting, and heating as reasonably required for the performance of the Services;

clear access to areas to be cleaned, including moving light personal items where necessary;

parking arrangements or permits where required, or to reimburse any reasonable parking charges incurred by the Cleaner in order to carry out the Services.

The Client must not directly employ or engage any Cleaner introduced by the Company for private work outside of the Company’s services without the Company’s prior written consent. The Company reserves the right to charge an introduction fee if this provision is breached.

Payments and Charges

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all Services are charged in accordance with the Company’s current price list or the specific quotation provided to the Client at the time of booking.

Prices may be quoted on an hourly basis, per job, or as a fixed fee, depending on the nature of the Services. Any additional tasks requested by the Client that were not included in the original quotation may be subject to additional charges.

Payment is due in accordance with the payment method and timescales communicated at the time of booking. The Company may require payment in advance, on the day of service, or by invoice with specified payment terms.

If payment is not received by the due date, the Company reserves the right to suspend future services and to charge interest and late payment fees in accordance with applicable UK law. The Client will be responsible for all reasonable costs the Company incurs in recovering overdue payments.

Cancellations and Amendments

The Client may cancel or amend a booking by giving the Company appropriate notice. Unless otherwise stated in a specific service agreement, the following will generally apply:

Cancellations or amendments made more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time will not normally incur a cancellation fee.

Cancellations or amendments made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time may incur a cancellation fee up to the full value of the scheduled visit.

If the Cleaner attends the Premises but is unable to carry out the Services due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or other issues within the Client’s control, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to staff illness, severe weather, transport disruption, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, the Company will use reasonable endeavours to provide as much notice as possible and to offer an alternative appointment.

Quality of Service and Complaints

The Company aims to provide a high quality and reliable cleaning service. If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should notify the Company as soon as possible and in any event within 24 hours of the service taking place.

Where a complaint is justified and relates to the quality of the cleaning performed, the Company will use reasonable efforts to rectify the issue, which may include arranging a re-clean of the affected areas at no additional cost, provided the complaint is made promptly and the Premises remain in the same condition as immediately after the service.

The Client agrees to provide reasonable access and cooperation to allow the Company to investigate and address any complaints. The Company’s liability in respect of any service-related complaint will be limited in accordance with the limitation of liability section of these Terms and Conditions.

Liability and Insurance

The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care in the selection and training of its Cleaners and in the performance of the Services. The Company will maintain appropriate public liability and employer’s liability insurance as required by UK law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company’s total liability to the Client in respect of any loss, damage, or claim arising out of or in connection with the Services shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Client for the specific service visit giving rise to the claim.

The Company will not be liable for:

any pre-existing damage, wear and tear, or defects to the Premises or items therein;

damage arising from the use of defective or inappropriate equipment or products supplied by the Client;

loss of cash, jewellery, or items of high value that have not been properly secured or disclosed to the Company in advance;

indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.

Where the Client wishes the Cleaner to use their own cleaning equipment or products, the Client accepts full responsibility for any damage resulting from their use. The Client is advised to secure or remove valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items prior to the commencement of the Services.

Health, Safety, and Waste Regulations

The Company is committed to carrying out the Services in a manner that protects the health and safety of Clients, Cleaners, and the public, and that complies with applicable UK laws and regulations.

The Services do not include the collection, removal, or disposal of hazardous or regulated waste, including but not limited to clinical waste, sharps, asbestos, chemical waste, or materials contaminated with bodily fluids beyond light domestic soiling. If such waste is present at the Premises, the Client must inform the Company in advance. The Company reserves the right to refuse to handle such materials and to withdraw from the Premises where safety is at risk.

The Client is responsible for the proper segregation and provision of domestic refuse and recycling in accordance with local authority requirements. Where the Client requests assistance in placing refuse in appropriate containers, this will be carried out as a courtesy service only, and the Client remains responsible for compliance with local waste collection rules.

The Company will not transport refuse or unwanted items away from the Premises unless this has been expressly agreed in advance and is compliant with relevant waste carriage and disposal regulations. Any additional charges for such services will be explained to the Client before work is undertaken.

Client Property, Keys, and Security

Where the Client provides keys, access cards, or codes to enable entry to the Premises, the Company will take reasonable steps to ensure their security and confidentiality. Keys will be stored securely when not in use and will not be labelled in a way that directly identifies the Premises.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that any alarm systems are appropriately managed and that correct instructions are provided to the Company. The Company will not be liable for costs or damage arising from alarms being triggered where correct instructions have not been supplied, are unclear, or where the alarm system is faulty.

Termination of Regular Services

Where the Client receives regular cleaning services, either party may terminate the ongoing arrangement by giving the period of notice agreed at the start of the service or, if not specified, a minimum of 14 days written notice.

The Company may terminate or suspend services with immediate effect if the Client fails to pay sums due, behaves abusively towards any Cleaner or staff member, persistently cancels appointments at short notice, or otherwise materially breaches these Terms and Conditions.

Privacy and Data Protection

The Company will collect and process personal data about Clients only to the extent necessary to provide the Services, manage bookings, take payment, and comply with its legal obligations. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.

The Company will not sell or disclose Client personal data to third parties except where required for the proper performance of the Services, the administration of its business, or where required by law.

Amendments to these Terms

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, best practice, or the scope of its services. The current version will apply to all new bookings from the date of publication.

Where regular Clients are affected by a material change to these terms, the Company will take reasonable steps to notify them in advance. Continued use of the Services after any changes have been communicated will be deemed acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as deleted, but the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or confirmation issued by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether oral or written.

By booking or using the Services of Barnet Cleaner, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
